Distant Echoes: Black Farmers in America Opens at DuSable Museum November 17
(Chicago, IL. ) Today, America is approaching the end of a story, whose beginnings reach back to the birth of this country. “Distant Echoes: Black Farmers in America,” a visual document of the final generation of Black family farmers, chronicles the lives and working conditions of those farmers in the United States, through the images of award-winning photographer John Francis Ficara. The exhibition will open at the DuSable Museum of African American History on November 17, 2008 and continue through May 17, 2009. The Museum is located at 740 East 56th Place (57th Street at South Cottage Grove Avenue) in Chicago’s Washington Park.
