DuSable Museum MAPS Curiculum
Museums And Public Schools (MAPS), a new direction for teaching Chicago’s children, creates a lasting impact on teaching and learning by integrating museum resources into the educational process. Guided by the Chicago Academic Standards, the curriculum Framework Statements, and the Illinois Learning Standards, curriculum models developed by museum and CPS educators helps to enliven classroom instruction will be enlivened while fulfilling specific academic standards.

National Civil Rights Museum (NCRM)
The National Civil Rights Museum (NCRM) was opened in 1991 at the site of the Lorraine Motel in downtown Memphis, Tennessee. The Museum exists to assist the public in understanding the lessons of the Civil Rights Movement and its impact and influence on the human rights movement worldwide, through its collections, exhibitions, research and educational programs.
African American History & Culture in Museums: Strategic Crossroads and New Opportunities
A publication, African American History & Culture in Museums: Strategic Crossroads and New Opportunities, is available from the Institue of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The reports results from a day-long forum where 30 invitees—leaders in the African American museum community and the museum community at large—explored the evolving role of African American museums, their contributions, and their challenges.
